Operating Manual — multi EA 5100
This manual covers installation, commissioning, routine operation and
maintenance of the multi EA 5100. It targets users with basic laboratory
training and is intended for routine labs in water, environmental and
industrial analytics.
Scope of delivery
- multi EA 5100 base unit
- Solid sample autosampler FPG 48 (optional)
- Combustion tube (quartz) incl. reaction aids
- Calibration set (sulfanilic acid, caffeine, KHP)
- USB license dongle (AJ-Commercial)
Safety notes
- Combustion temperature 1,050 °C — only open the furnace after the
purge-gas check is complete
- Carrier gas: Argon 5.0 or Oxygen 5.5, pressure 3.5 bar ± 0.2 bar
- Do not look directly at the UV detector source
First start-up
- Tighten gas connections (wrench size 14) without pressure
- Establish FeliX host & ICM connection (see FeliX manual)
- Heat the reactor — warm-up time 45 min
- Run a blank
